For the last edition of “Maison & Objet” - Paris, January 2014 - Kartell invited the best designers of its team to reinvent the icon lamp “Bourgie”, to celebrate its 10th anniversary. The resulting pieces have been exhibited in Paris, then in Milan - at Salone del Mobile and then in New York - at the ICFF fair, North America's platform for global design, May 2014. The iconic lamp designed by Ferruccio Laviani, was presented in 14 new different versions, signed by Patricia Urquiola, Piero Lissoni, Front, Mario Bellini, Alberto Meda, Lenny Kravitz, Philippe Starck, Eugeni Quitllet, Christophe Pillet, Nendo, Tokujiin Yoshioka, Patrick Jouin, Ludovica + Roberto Palomba, Rodolfo Dordoni. Among them, Philippe Starck decorated the Bourgie with some emblems of the French nations such as the Eiffel Tower. Jouin embedded on his version the words "The future is a present from the past", a true synthesis of Kartell philosophy. All the special creations are intended to be sold on-line in a charity auction scheduled for the end of the year.
